Cassie & Chris 7.20.08
Cassie and Chris have the most exuberant love. They were filled with so much emotion and energy throughout their wedding it was an absolute joy just to be around them witnessing the events of the day. The lovely Katie Lyman shot with me at the Bronx Botanical Gardens and we just couldn't get enough of the beautiful day!
Venue: The Bronx Botanical Gardens
Catering: Abigail Kirsch

I loved this moment, it was really quiet as Cassie came out to see Chris for the first time all day and she yelled out "Hey handsome!" Sometimes I wish I could record audio too.
One of my favorites.
There is this big beautiful field (well maybe it's more like a patch of grass, if you are coming from somewhere outside of NYC) and there's a nice little sign next to it that forbids you from stepping on said grass. So when I told Cassie and Chris that they weren't allowed on the grass, they had just the reaction I was hoping for!

Julie & Michael
I'm blogging out of order, but I just can't help myself! I love surprises so I was super excited when I got a call from Michael about photographing his proposal to Julie. He had the most romantic plan and I felt like I was part of a top secret mission as we coordinated everything (not that I've ever been a part of a top secret mission). Michael sent flowers and a note to Julie earlier in the day and then a car picked her up and drove her out to the Cape Poge Lighthouse where we were waiting. It was just before sunset and the light was incredible, the view amazing and there was no one else around. It was a magical evening and so much fun to photograph!!! Oh and she said yes!!! Congratulations you two!

Our fearless leaders: The Trustees of Reservation. For the record we were never stuck in the sand, but someone put air in the tires and we were going down fast!
Location: Cape Poge Lighthouse, East Beach and the Dike Bridge
Flowers: Flowers on the Vineyard

Meet Grayson
I spent half of July off island for shoots in New York, Rhode Island and Connecticut. To kick it all off I got to meet Grayson! She is such a joy and it was great to hang out with her and her parents, Amy and Jason, whose wedding I shot just over two years ago on Martha's Vineyard. One of my favorite parts of what I do is catching up with couples over the years and getting to see their families grow.
We started off doing some portraits at home, which went something like this: Amy or Jason would put Grayson on the bed, she would charge towards me, one of us would catch her and put her back at the other end of the bed and then charge....
Finally she slowed down a little.
And then we were off to the park.
This little chickadee really knows how to travel in style!
