Trading Sidewalks for Sand

Ever since I was little I've dreamed of living on Martha's Vineyard. I use to cry when we packed up the car and left the island at the end of the summer and was thrilled when Hurricane Bob put the Chappy Ferry out of commission and a swim with a bar of soap constituted a bath. So after several Manhattan summers, I've taken the plunge and relocated for the summer. Below are some pics of my new office on Beach Road in Vineyard Haven. I've spent the last week and a bit getting settled and gearing up for an exciting summer season with weddings both on and off the island.

The reclaimed wood frames are from the lovely folks at the Frame Center in Vineyard Haven.

Thanks to Sofya at Nochi for the beautiful flowers!

The chairs are ridiculously comfortable, thank you Joanne!!!

As soon as I laid eyes on this trunk I picked it up and put it in my office. I'm lucky enough to have my studio in a building full of creative folks. When you enter the building you'll see some of the super cool creations by Gristmill Builders, who made the trunk. Thankfully I am not strong enough nor do I have room for some of the other fabulous furniture in their showroom.

Essential elements. I am strategically located within walking distance of the best coffee on the island.

The view. My office faces the shipyard and the inlet where I attempted to become a windsurfer...I wasn't terribly successful.
